This project will focus on assessing locations for and planning the installation of new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations the City of Olympia would like to purchase. This project will include identifying locations, determining potential for partnerships with private landowners, and assessing existing infrastructure to increase public use of EV charging stations. The end goal is the installation of up to five new charging stations in Olympia.

 

Within Scope for City of Olympia:

-Identify locations to expand availability of EV charging in Olympia.

-This may require establishing partnerships with local business or land owners.

-Assess infrastructure of new locations for feasibility of EV stations installation.

-Asphalt work and signage can be done with Public Works Transportation equipment depending on volume and complexity.

-Hire contractor to perform the electrical aspects of installation and depending on how many stations will be installed, the entire construction project could be contracted out in one bid.

-Oversee installation of new EV charging stations.

-File appropriate legal paperwork for installation using counsel available to city.

Outside of Scope for City of Olympia:

-Relocating existing charging station equipment.

-Large scale infrastructure change.

-Funding requirement of over $300,000
